One thing I have always done, even when I was a stay out late, drunk too much twentysomething, I have never gone to bed with my make-up on. Admittedly, there may have been times when it was just a cursory swipe of eye make-up remover and and wipe with a damp flannel, but generally I have always been a bit of a clean skin freak.
As I have started to write about make-up and skincare, I am trying loads of new products and so my routine changes quite frequently. So here is my current evening routine.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I use this Micellar water to remove my eye make-up and it does so incredibly well. I am a bit partial to a few coats of mascara and this removes all of it easily. http://www.garnier.co.uk
Una Brennan Super Facialist
This is beautiful cleansing oil that smells divinely of sweet orange. A very light oil that becomes milky when you add water to it. Is simply massage into my skin and remove with a warm, damp flannel. I always repeat this process as the first cleanse removes the make-up and the second cleanses the skin. http://www.superfacialist.co.uk.
Pixie Glow Tonic
Pop some Glow Tonic on a cotton pad and wipe over the skin. This contains Glycolic Acid and since I have been using this, my skin has definitely improved. This is something I will continue to use in the future. http://www.pixibeauty.com.
Skin Doctors Youth Cell
I like to use a serum before my moisturiser, and at the moment I am using this product that I bought from T K Max. They often have random products on their shelves, and it looked interesting. I have found this to be very moisturising and not sticky (which I hate). http://www.skindoctors.co.uk.
L’Oreal Age Perfect Pro-calcium night cream
I like a bargain, and this was on sale in Boots for a fiver! So I’ve given it a go. I’m pleased with it so far. It is easily absorbed into the skin and as my skin is mature and dehydrated, it works well for me. I think if you had a greasy skin, then this cream would not be suitable for you. http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk.
