Anyone who is up to date with recent beauty favourites will definitely be aware of The Ordinary range of skin products. The Ordinary is a brand that is part of the Deciem group.
Deciem The Abnormal Beauty Company is the umbrella company for many smaller brands including NIOD, Hylamide and The Chemistry Brand. They believe in quality and sensible prices.
I have been using six of their products over the past couple of months and on the whole I have been very pleased with the results.
VITAMIN C SUSPENSION 23% + HA SPHERES 2% £4.90
To help combat the signs of ageing, Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) is great for brightening and smoothing the skin. The HA spheres (Hyaluronic Acid) hydrates the skin. The texture is quite gritty, but this is quickly absorbed into the skin. Advice says that tingling may be experienced, but I found this to only be a minimal effect. I have been applying it a nighttime and I really found it to improve the texture of my skin. I have mild rosacea around my nose and chin areas, so I have not been applying it there.
HYALURONIC ACID 2% + B5 £5.90
This is an oil-free formula that deeply hydrates the skin. It has B5 added to enhance this process further. I have been using this in the mornings in conjunction with some of the other products. My skin is definitely more hydrated and smooth.
Buffet is a peptide serum that contains various peptides, amino acids and hyaluronic acid. I have been layering this over the hyaluronic acid in the mornings, and letting each layer dry before adding the next.
ALPHA ARBUTIN AND HYALURONIC ACID £7.00
This is to combat the appearance of pigmentation spots and hyper-pigmentation. It can be applied all over the face, but I have been using specifically on the pigment spots. This I know is working. I have seen a definite lightening in these areas, so I am going to continue to treat them with this product.
CAFFEINE SOLUTION 5% +EGCG £5.80
This solution is to help with any puffiness and dark circles under the eye. I have been applying this am and pm. Although the company makes no claims to helping with hydration, I feel the skin under my eyes is definitely less dry and also any fine lines do seem less noticeable.
NIACINAMIDE 10% + ZINC 1% £5.00
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) can be used to improve skin congestion and skin blemishes. I have to say, that this product seemed to peel off when I applied make-up and so I have stopped using it. I would probably use it again in the evening if I was not using the Vitamin C. Vitamin C and Niacinamide should not be used together.
I am really enjoying trying out these products and will definitely be looking into more of the range. The packaging is great and the price is definitely a huge plus.
