Look Fabulous Forever

IMG_6912

Recently, I was contacted by the very lovely people at Look Fabulous Forever who asked if I would like to try some of their products.  Interestingly, I haven’t tried the brand before, even though I am a prime target for their make-up for the “more mature” woman.  I said I would love to try their products, and so they very kindly sent me some.  Here is my thoughts on the brand and the products.

I think, the main reason I hadn’t tried anything from Look Fabulous Forever, is that if you order online, you have no real idea of the shades and consistencies of the make-up.

Continuous Cover Foundation

IMG_6928

This foundation is very easy to apply and blend.  The shade I had picked from the colour chart was 02.5 and was a great shade for me.  It feels light on the skin and is buildable, although I didn’t feel I needed too. It contains coconut oil and Vitamin E to help keep the skin moisturised.

Real Radiance Blush in Peach Cream

IMG_6919

This is a cream to powder blusher, and is lovely and light and blends easily into the skin. It is not highly pigmented, but rather leaves a natural glow to the skin.

No Shimmer Eye Shades in Cream and Cocoa

These eye shadows are matte, and I was very impressed with the staying power of these shadows.  LFF do recommend wearing an eye primer first to keep the powder in place, but I found that it stayed in place all day without the primer.  There is a good range of shades too.

Fabulous Lash Mascara

xBx+gwacTIe4CIO1rq759g

Normally, I like a mascara that it is quite volumising, and this mascara isn’t that.  However, it is a great mascara if you prefer a more natural lash.  I did apply several coats and it keeps the lashes beautifully separate and does not clump at all.

Never Feather Lip Prime

IMG_6926

This is a new concept for me, as I never use a lip primer.  I’m a convert!  I love this product, as it leaves the lips perfect for your lipstick.  It has a very smooth consistency and stops lipstick from bleeding into any fine lines.

Lustrous Colour Lipstick

IMG_6913

This is definitely my favourite product so far.  The lipstick is very moisturising and luscious and I love the colour.  It is fairly long lasting and goes brilliantly over the lip primer.

So, I feel I need to try some more products from Look Fabulous Forever as I feel the quality and suitability for older skins is definitely a plus.

This is not a sponsored/paid post but the products were all gifted by Look Fabulous Forever.

IMG_7237IMG_7237

Another month of 2018 gone, and it really has been a glorious month.  All of my June favourites I have been using consistently over the last month and all are well-tried and tested.

ST TROPEZ PURITY BRONZING WATER MOUSSE RRP £30

At the  moment, there is a price drop in Superdrug and Boots of £10.

Who doesn’t like a tan?  Usually, at the beginning of summer I like to use a fake tan and I really have been impressed with this one from St Tropez.  It is very easy to apply and blend with a tanning mitt and it gives a very natural tan that does not transfer onto clothes.  It’s great for last minute tanning and I use it particularly on my legs as they never seem to tan very well naturally.

IMG_7239

INDIE LEE COQ-10 TONER RRP £30

In April, I purchased the Lydia Elise Millen/Cult Beauty Box collaboration, and this was one of the items that Lydia included.  I had not tried anything from the brand before, but I have become a big fan of this toner, as it is not harsh on the skin and leaves it feeling lovely and refreshed.

IMG_7242

ESTEE LAUDER BRONZE GODDESS

THE SUMMER LOOK PALETTE RRP £45

This has all the glistening, sea and summer shades you need.  It also has a blusher and highlighter.  I have found myself reaching for this on an almost daily basis and I love it.IMG_7243

URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN FOUNDATION IN SHADE 5.0

RRP £28.50

I have a lot of foundations, but recently I have rediscovered the Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Make-up from Urban Decay.   It is a great foundation for summer as it is very light with good coverage.

IMG_7241

GUERLAIN ROUGE G IN SHADE NO. 28 RRP £27

This is the perfect red for me.  It is a coral red and and it last for ages on the lips.  I was tempted by the adorable lipstick case and it has two mirrors inside.  This was my choice of colour and I’ve pretty much worn it every day since I bought it.

So that’s this month’s favourites, what have been yours this month?

Something different from Beauty Pie …

fullsizeoutput_be9

Recently, I cancelled my subscription to Beauty Pie as I felt I had probably ordered just about everything I wanted from them and so decided to cancel for a while.  However, I have since rejoined because the lovely Marcia Kilgore sent me some Vitamin C capsules to try, and guess what, I found out that I need to get these in my life.  Hence, the new order and renewal of my subscription.

So, because I have fallen in love with the Vitamin C capsules, I ordered some more.  These make your skin feel amazing.  Also, having them in capsule form is a masterstroke because it makes them so easy to use, they are protected from oxygen which will make Vitamin C inactive and unstable, and they are great to travel with as you only need to take the required amount with you.

fullsizeoutput_be7

As many of you may know, I am a big fan of a cleansing balm, and so I thought I would try the Plantastic Apricot Butter Cleansing Balm.  This is a deep cleansing and nourishing balm and it contains rosehip oil and Vitamin E.  So far, I am loving this too.  Early days though, as I like to try new products for a couple of months before finalising my opinion.

fullsizeoutput_bf2

As well as skincare and make-up, Beauty Pie also sell brushes, and so I thought I would get a couple, as well, you can never have enough brushes eh?!

fullsizeoutput_bea

I ordered two of the eyeshadow blender brushes.

I really have been delighted with everything I have ordered from Beauty Pie.  The quality of the products is outstanding and watch this space – I will be ordering more!

Have a great week guys……x

June Glossybox….

Another great box from Glossybox this month – I am actually very pleased with the recent boxes I have received.

MONU SKIN EYE COOL GEL 15ML £24.95

IMG_6210

This is a very cooling eye gel and it is definitely refreshing.  It does not leave any residue and I haven’t had any problems applying make-up over it.

LARITZY COSMETICS SHADE STIX £18

IMG_6214

This is a very creamy contour stick.  I personally wouldn’t use it as a blusher as it is too brown for my taste.  I would and have used it as a contour colour and it is super easy to blend.

NIP+FAB GLYCOLIC SCRUB FIX £9.95 (FOR THE FULL SIZE)

IMG_6209

This smells totally amazing and is quite a gentle exfoliator.  It leaves the skin feeling really smooth and I do like it.  I do use a lot of chemical exfoliators and so will probably only use this occasionally so that I don’t over do it.  I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a scrub type exfoliant.  Love the grapefruit smell!

NOVEX MYSTIC BLACK DEEP HAIR MASK 1 KG £11.95

IMG_6211

This is a sample of 100ml.  I haven’t tried this yet, but it looks promising.  No bad things like parabens, sulphates silicones in it.

WILKINSON’S SWORD INTUITION F.A.B. RAZOR £12 (ONE RAZOR)

IMG_6213

Yeah, I’m happy to have this in the box to try – mainly because I would definitely not pay £12 for a single razor!  Absolutely nuts to spend that money on one razor.  I actually get quite annoyed about the price of razors for men and women.  They are totally overpriced in my opinion, and very often the cheap BIC razors are better by far than the more expensive ones.  Rant over!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog – have a great week xxxx

Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess Summer Look Palette …

fullsizeoutput_c06

I thought I would do a make-up look using the new Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Look Palette.

fullsizeoutput_bf3

I used by usual By Terry CC Cream and Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation as my base and Hourglass Bronzer.

On my eyes I used the top cream shade all over the lid, followed by the next two shadows on my  lids and in the crease.  The dark green shade at the bottom, I used on the outer corners of the lid and crease.

I used the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara on my lashes.

On my cheeks, I used the blush shade  and the highlighter shade.

Every year Estee Lauder bring out a stunning palette for the Summer season, but this year is such a gorgeous collection of shades.  A really beautiful palette.

Simple Sun-Kissed Summer Make-Up Look …

fullsizeoutput_b91

This is a very simple, Summer make-up look using only a few products.

To get a really glowy skin, I like to use By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum in Sunny Flash.  If you are younger, you could get away with just using this as your base and not adding a foundation.

IMG_5584

On top of the  By Terry, I use 123 Perfect CC Cream from Bourjois – this is a great CC cream and I do use it all year round.  I always keep one in an overnight bag for when I travel.  This shade is 32 Light Beige.

IMG_5585

On my brows I like to fill in any gaps with the Beauty Pie Superbrow Precision Pencil in shade Baked Brown.

IMG_5590

Because this is a quick, simple look, I don’t use a separate eyeshadow, but use Rockateur from Benefit, which is a blusher.

IMG_5588

The eyeliner is from MAC and is the shade Phone Number, which is a slate grey colour, and my favourite all time eyeliner.

IMG_5589

I have a ton of mascaras, but this one is from Chanel Dimensions de Chanel 10, which is black.  I didn’t use any mascara on my lower lashes.

fullsizeoutput_b93

On the inner corner of my eye I used a cream eyeshadow stick, Champagne Party from Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

fullsizeoutput_b92

The blusher is another all time favourite from Hourglass, Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Diffused Bronze Light.  This is the best bronzer and I have nearly finished this one.

IMG_5586

Finally, a lip crayon from Bourjois, Proudly Naked – I’m not sure that this is still available as I have had it for a while.

fullsizeoutput_b90

That’s it for this look.

Have a great week.

May Favourites ..

fullsizeoutput_b42

Picking favourites is getting harder and harder each month.  These are just some of this month’s favourites.

ST TROPEZ SELF TAN PURITY 200ML – £31.00 (BOOTS)

fullsizeoutput_b41

If you are in to self tanning, then you should definitely try this.  It is so easy to apply with a mitt and does not streak.  But the best thing about this self tan is that you do not need to rinse it off and it does not transfer to clothing or sheets once it has dried.  It also smells really good.  I’m almost out, so I need to re-purchase this.

MERUMAYA YOUTH PRESERVATION MOISTURISER 20ML – £37.00

fullsizeoutput_b3e

This is a sample, kindly sent to me by Merumaya, but I have almost finished it and need to buy a full size bottle.  It is a very  moisturising, long-lasting moisturiser and it leaves the skin feeling smooth and ready for foundation. A great product from Merumaya, and I am excited to try some more from this brand.

CHANEL LE VERNIS 504 ORGANDIE LONG WEAR NAIL COLOUR – 13ML -£22.00

fullsizeoutput_b3d

Recently, I had a holiday in France and I picked this nail polish up in Duty Free.  It is possibly THE perfect colour for Summer.  A pinky nude shade that goes with everything. Excellent!

CHANEL VITALUMIERE FOUNDATION SHADE 40 BEIGE 30ML – £40

fullsizeoutput_b3f

This is a medium coverage satin foundation that leaves the skin quite glowy and luminous.  It has SPF 15 and is long wearing.  I bought this a couple of weeks ago after having been given a sample, and I have worn it most days since.

BEAUTY PIE SUPER RETINOL ANTI-AGEING FACE SERUM 50ML – £9.94 (FOR MEMBERS) £80 REGULAR PRICE

fullsizeoutput_b43

I have loved just about everything I have ordered from Beauty Pie, and their skin care ranges are exceptional.  I feel this product has definitely made a difference to my skin, and I have been using it on alternate evenings in combination with another Beauty Pie product – Plantastic Micropeeling Super Drops.

GUERLAIN ROUGE G LIPSTICK IN SHADE NO 28 – £28.00 (Plus case  costs £14.00)

fullsizeoutput_b40

I am totally in love with these lipsticks from Guerlain.  For a start, the cases are glorious, such great quality and brilliant with the mirror in the lid. This shade (no 28) is a coral red and I’m loving it for the Summer.  I can see myself adding to the Guerlain collection!!!

What were your favourites this month?  I would love to know – comment below!
