January Glossybox ….

This month’s box is a little bit different to the usual box.  The first thing I noticed was the large box of a food supplement from Beauty Beneath, which is a product made for Boots.

This is a supplement designed to boost the skins collagen production and also provides a blend of nutrients and antioxidants that are essential to maintain and healthy and youthful looking skin.  There are two capsules to be taken daily.  I’ll report back on this and let you know what I think.

The Nail and Cuticle Energiser is an interesting product.  It says that it is an oil, but I it doesn’t feel like an oil to me, and in fact, I had to treat each nail individually as it seems to evaporate quite quickly.  Having said that, I will continue to use it, and see how it performs over the next few weeks.

From Apicia, comes a cream blusher that contains organic bee pollen.  I have only tried this on the back of my hand so far, and it does blend out nicely, giving a subtle, natural colour.  fullsizeoutput_603

Evelyn Iona Cosmetics’ Green Tea Primer is Vegan, cruelty free and paraben free.  This is a beautiful primer and it contains avocado oil and green tea extract.  A gorgeous base on which to apply your foundation.  I think I will have to check out the website and see what else they have to offer.

Finally, from Dr Botanicals, is their Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil.  I love a good facial oil, and this is beautiful.  A very light oil that absorbs quickly into the skin, and it smells so good.  Perfect!

I am very pleased with this month’s box.  A lot of different products, new brands to me and the quality seems very high.

I have listed the websites of all the brands below.

Enjoy your week everyone.

A Little Bit Of Clarins ….

Who doesn’t like a bit of Clarins skincare?  I do!

My all time favourite hand cream is Hand and Nail Treatment Cream.  It is simply the best hand cream that I have found.  It smells divine, leaves the hands silky smooth and not greasy, and really does help keep nails and skin moisturised.

IMG_1595 2

The Multi-Active Jour day cream is something I have only tried recently and so far, I am loving it!  It sinks in to the skin immediately, leaving it hydrated and soft.

If you like a physical exfoliant rather than an acid type exfoliation, then the Gentle Refiner is a great choice.  It contains natural micrograms that dissolve whilst being massaged into the skin.  No nasty plastic microbeads here!

The Tonic Body Treatment Oil is a fantastic oil that is super moisturising and non greasy. It claims to help remove stretch marks, but I’m not completely convinced anything can if you already have them.  Fortunately I don’t, but this is a great oil to keep your skin smooth and nourished.

IMG_2369 2

The Exfoliating Body Scrub for Smooth Skin is a great way to remove rough skin.  It contains natural bamboo powder to exfoliate any flaky skin.

Finally, I was given a little sample bottle of the Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil to try.  I am a big fan of facial oils and this one is a great addition to an already large collection!  It is 100% plant based and contains Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid.  Gorgeous.

If you have never tried anything from Clarins, I can honestly say that their products are extremely good and possibly start with the hand cream and see how you like it.

What are your favourite skincare products?  I would love to know, so leave a comment below.

This year’s favourites …..

IMG_3272There were so many products I reached for again and again in 2017.  To be honest, I could have tripled the number of products that were favourites.  All, except one, are products that are new to me this year.  The exception being the Tartlette palette.

Something I have used ever since I first tried it, is the Double Serum from Clarins.  I absolutely love this and it has made such a difference to the hydration of my skin.

IMG_3277I know that this is a product that I will continue to purchase, and I have already bought my second one, just in case I run out!

The Kiehls Smoothing Oil-Infused Leave-In Concentrate is also something I have continuously used all throughout 2017.  My hair tends to be quite fly away and this just keeps it smooth, but not greasy.  Simply lovely.

I think I picked up the Clinique All About Eyes as part of a gift with purchase, earlier in the year.  I have used this every day, morning and evening since I got it.  It is very light, but highly moisturising.  Another product that I will definitely be buying again.

When I first started by blog, I think I entered a giveaway on Twitter and won the Tartlette in Bloom eye shadow palette.  This is a brilliant palette with a great mix of matt, shimmer and colour.  I usually take this with me if I am going on a trip, because I can get any look I want with these colours.

Back in June, I did a blogpost on Rapid Lash.  Since, I started using Rapid Lash, my lashes are much longer and thicker.  I am now on my second pack and although it may seem expensive (around £40) it works out as less than £2 per week.  They look better than eyelash extensions too!

The power of the internet is strong, and I completely hold my hands up and admit I was completely swayed by watching some YouTubers use this product.  It is the BB Creme Nude by Erborian, a South Korean brand that I had not heard of before.   It is a great product and I use it alone, and sometimes as a primer under another foundation.  It has great coverage whilst still giving a very natural transparent look to the skin.

The next two products are from L’Oreal.  The Lumi Magique pure light primer is absolutely fabulous under foundation or on the cheek bones as a highlighter.  If you have great, young skin, you could use it on its own, just to give your skin a bit of a glow.

The L’Oreal Glam Nude CC Cream is a violet coloured cream that brightens up dull looking skin.  I use this under a light coverage foundation usually.

Day to day, I generally use a CC Cream or a light coverage foundation.  If I am going out in the evening, I might want a bit more coverage, so my favourite foundation this year has been Dior’s Star Studio Make-Up Spectacular Brightening Weightless Perfection with SPS30.  A bit of a mouthful, but a lovely foundation.

Another product that I have been reaching for over and over again this year, is the Gel Shine 3D Top Coat from Sally Hansen.  This is a high shine, gel like top coat and it is great on top of any polish.  IMG_3285

Last, but definitely not least, a lipstick from Tanya Burr.  I have to admit, that before I picked up anything from the TB range, I did not have particularly high expectations of the quality of the products.  This lipstick was the first thing I purchased and it has become my favourite lipstick of 2017 without question, and I have a LOT of lipsticks, believe me!  The shade is Pink Cocoa and it goes with everything, it is super creamy and lasts for ages.  I need to get a new one!

Well, another year comes to an end and a new one just about to start.  Don’t look back, for those days are gone.  Look forward with exitement at what might me.  Make memories to cherish, love in abudance and never be cruel or unkind.

A big thank you to all of my subscribers and to anyone else who may stray on to my blog.

Have a Happy New Year and may 2018 bring everything you wish for.

Living Sea Therapy ….

IMG_3009 2

I like to try out products that are produced locally to where I live and to give them a shout out if I think the products are good.

Here, in the southwest of the United Kingdon, Cornwall is surrounded on three sides by the sea.  I recently discovered a company Living Sea, that are based near The Lizard peninsula, and they work with their sister companies, Cornish Sea Salt Co and Cornish Seaweed Co, to produce a great range of skincare, full of sea minerals, wild seaweeds and  their own wonder ingredient – Living Sea Complex.

IMG_3017 2

It is quite a small range at present and their Body range includes a Sea Salt Scrub, Body Wash and Body Butter.  The Hands and Feet range includes a Hand Wash, Hand Lotion and Foot Cream  and finally, the Bath Range includes a Bath Soak, Bath Salts (Calm) and Bath Salts (Indulge).

IMG_3019 2I picked two products, the first is the Hand Lotion which comes in a pump dispenser.

This just smells of the sea and is really nourishing on the hands.  It is quickly absorbed into the skin and is not at all greasy.  It comes in a 300ml size and costs £16.

IMG_3021 2

I also chose a body lotion, and it has the same fragrance as the hand lotion.  It smells of ozone, seaweed and a whiff of citrus.  Absorbs quickly, leaving skin soft and hydrated.  150ml costs £19.

IMG_3015I have linked the details of Living Sea’s Website below.

This is not a paid for editorial.  All products were purchased by myself.

December’s Glossybox…

IMG_3254Here is a quick review of the contents of the December Glossybox.  I have not tried any of the products yet, but it looks to be a good box.

This is a fluoride free/SLS free toothpaste that contains charcoal.  I am very interested to try this toothpaste as charcoal is said to have many beneficial properties, including whitening.  We shall see.IMG_3257

This smudge proof and waterproof eyeliner does have a super fine tip.  I can’t quite pull off the feline flick myself, but look forward to trying this out.IMG_3260

This eyeshadow palette is pretty amazing for £3.75.  I have swatched all the colours and they are lovely.  This is a new brand to me and I think I will have to check out what other products they have.IMG_3265

This is a lovely rose/pink/nude matte lipstick from another company I know nothing about.  IMG_3261

I generally prefer a balm cleanser, but I am interested to see how this gel to milk cleanser performs.  Yet another unknown brand to check out.IMG_3263

Last, but not least, the lovely peeps at Glossybox popped in sweet treat – always welcome in my world.

Also included was a 20% discount code for the Glossybox Dusty Boy range of stationery and paper goods, wall prints and notebooks.

So, we are moving swiftly towards Christmas, and my next blog will be going out on Christmas Eve.

Have a great week everyone.

Tanya Burr – Tanya’s Treats Advent Calendar …

IMG_3228I thought this year I would only get one advent calendar, and so I bought the Lancôme calendar.  However, having a wander around Superdrug this week, I discovered that the Tanya Burr advent calendar was selling at the reduced price of £10.  Temptation got the better of me, and so this is my review of the the products you can find inside.

There are three full sized nail polishes in Festive Red, Glitter Rain (silver glitter) and Glitter Frosting (bronze glitter).

IMG_3231IMG_3235IMG_3233There is a small handbag mirror.IMG_3237

A small handbag sized nail file.

Two glitter pots in Let it Snow (a white, pearly glitter) and Midnight Magic (a bronze glitter) perfect for Christmas parties!

Two glitter eyeliners in Silver and Gold.IMG_3239

Three lip glosses in Cranberry Mist, Pink Fondant and Ice Queen.

I have to say, that as calendars go, this is pretty awesome.  You get a lot of product for £10.  Also, as it is a 12 day calendar, you could give it as a gift at Christmas and it can be opened from Christmas day.

I know, some advent calendars have been criticised this year, but I think this one is definitely value for money.

Hope you all have a great week.

What I got from Elemis/QVC…

fullsizeoutput_57dI am sure that most of you are aware of QVC, but for those of you who haven’t heard of them, they are a shopping channel that sells beauty, fashion and electrical items.  They are worth checking out as you can get some great offers.

I recently purchased this offer from Elemis, and I have to say, it is a real bargain.

fullsizeoutput_583This is not a full size product which is normally 105g, but a 50g pot.  This award-winning balm is gorgeous.  It smells divine and melts into the skin to cleanse the face beautifully.  Massage in, and remove with a warm face cloth. Heaven!

fullsizeoutput_57fSpritz some of the Ginseng Toner onto a cotton pad and wipe over face after cleansing with the balm.  This is a full size product.

This is a 30ml size, full size is 50ml.  This is a rich, but not greasy moisturiser and you only need a tiny amount to cover the whole of your face and neck.

This is a 200ml bottle and the full size is normally 300ml.  A great addition to your bathroom.

This is a full size item and has a delicate fragrance.  Only a small amount is required to cleanse and soften the skin.

Another full size product and this is super nourishing to the hands, and again, only a small amount is needed .

I have listed all the prices below and just a small disclaimer, I purchased these items myself and the post is not sponsored in any way by QVC or Elemis.

So, into December now and heading for Christmas.  I hope you are all getting  excited and whether or not you celebrate Christmas, I hope December will be full of fun and happiness for you all.

lots of love, Gail xxx
